Rust metal wallart

The red oak leaf pattern was my first project. I’ve made it for myself as a decorative staircase lighting. In the autumn I collected leaves on a walk, and then for several months I was learning the whole process from idea to the finished artwork.

I chose the red oak leaf because it has a very characteristic shape and beautifully discolouration in autumn, which is why I found it the most beautiful on that walk.

I cut the first pattern in the corten, but here the client wanted stainless steel, because it more suited the interior. The leaf will hang on the staircase, illuminating and decorating the place at the same time.
